Here are the rules for SWFs:
- Each time you get an IVC, hit reply all and send SOMETHING WORTH FORWARDING to all of them with the acronym SWF at the beginning of the email. For instance, if you get an IVC, hit the reply button, enter some text containing USEFUL information (for our example, it's about junk emails), then change the subject to read "SWF: remove junk mail from your inbox".
- It CANNOT contain anything relating to "Pass this onto 10 friends or ... " -- that is unless you're completely kidding and making fun of those types of emails.
- It CANNOT be a petition of any kind.
- It MUST contain helpful information that people can actually use in their lives. The information should be something every person, regardless of religious or political beliefs, can act on or participate in. I realize this is subjective but give it some serious thought as to whether you'd truly find the information useful.
- When forwarding a SWF, click the forward button but before pressing send, please delete the addresses of everyone it was forwarded to previously which show up in the body of the message.
Occasionally, I will be posting SWFs here that I have forwarded onto those sending IVCs so you can have some fodder for your next SWF!

While this is a good idea, I cannot break my Do Not Send Forwards rule. I hope it catches on though!
i may try this, but yeah "reply to all" and "forward" are dirty words in my outlook book
;-)
on that note, why do people love hitting reply to all? happened at work last week, and about 15,000 emails went around and crippled our servers lol
caramama -- I understand your hatred of forwards. I'm with you but if people are going to forward things to make themselves feel apart of this new-fangled fad (i.e. my relatives -- even though it's really not that new, I think they just feel APART of the Intraweb by doing it), it might as well be a SWF.
kz -- Gotta love those. I really enjoy the ones where it's like "Thanks for the info!", sent to everyone or even better, when a colleague says something improper that should have been sent to just the one person but they replied to all. You know, when they reply something like, "It's amazing that he's even asking that question. What a dumbass!" That's a great moment.
yeah this was great because it was sent to the wrong distro list, so everyone was replying to all with "please take me off this distro" and "why did i get this email?" and then there were people saying "stop replying to all, people!" except those emails far outnumbered the original complainers. THEN there were people just being jackasses, saying stuff like "good morning from jacksonville!"
needless to say, a corporate email went out later that day - i got 250 emails in about 30 minutes, then they blocked the rest at the servers.
